About Us
Restoring Hope, One Net at a Time
Fisherman’s Wharf Ghana is a nonprofit initiative born out of compassion, community, and a deep desire to change the tides for Ghana’s coastal fishing families. Our mission is simple: to support, protect, and uplift the fishmongers, fishermen, widows, and children who rely on fishing not just as a livelihood, but as a way of life.
In Ghana, over 2.7 million people rely directly or indirectly on the fishing industry. Yet, the sector is facing alarming decline — overfishing, environmental degradation, outdated tools, and unsafe working conditions have left entire communities in crisis. Each year, hundreds of fishermen perish at sea, leaving behind widows and fatherless children. In many coastal towns, 1 in 3 children go to bed hungry, their futures threatened by a broken system.
We are here to change that.
At Fisherman’s Wharf Ghana, we focus on sustainable impact: rebuilding safe homes, providing modern fishing tools, offering widow support programs, educational resources, and feeding initiatives for children. Through faith, generosity, and a collective will, we aim to rewrite the story of the fishing communities — from despair to dignity.
We’re not just raising funds; we’re raising lives.
